Bringing Vision Zero to communities across North Dakota is a collaborative effort. Our Outreach Coordinators provide local traffic safety resources, education, and prevention strategies to reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries throughout the state.
As local points of contact for community leaders, schools, and businesses, our coordinators turn the Vision Zero mission into action by:
- Supporting local traffic safety education and awareness campaigns.
- Partnering with North Dakota businesses and community groups.
- Sharing localized traffic data and safety statistics.
- Promoting safer driving choices on North Dakota roads.
Coordinators offer tailored presentations and training opportunities for diverse audiences, including:
- Vision Zero Overview: Understanding the "Safe System" approach.
- School Programs: Elementary education and Vision Zero Schools (peer-to-peer leadership).
- Driver Behavior Challenges: Programs like Buckle Up, Phone Down and Impact Teen Drivers.
- Workplace Safety: Presentations focused on business and organizational traffic safety.
To make safety education engaging, coordinators provide hands-on tools (subject to availability):
- Impairment & Distraction Tools: Alcohol impairment goggles and distracted/drowsy driving simulators.
- Crash Survivability Tools: Rollover simulators and mini seat belt convincers.
- Engaging Activities: Drunk Buster pedal carts and Distract-A-Match challenges.
