
Driving Skills for Success is an event that brings young drivers in a controlled environment to learn the dangers of unsafe driving habits. This event teaches young drivers basic roadside vehicle maintenance, safe habits when driving, and the consequences of driving distracted or impaired.
Alive at 25
Alive at 25 is an additional opportunity for teens. This is an interactive 4-hour classroom course for young drivers. This will take place during the Driving Skills for Success event. The course is offered by the North Dakota Safety Council and is designed to reduce the likelihood of young drivers ending up in a car crash.
- Alive at 25 will be offered at no-cost (normally $65)
- Drivers that complete Alive at 25 may be eligible for an insurance discount

- Bismarck - July 28, 2026 (VFW Events Center)
- Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Minot - August 5th, 2026 (North Dakota State Fairground)
- Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Minot Driving Skills for Success Registration
- There are nearly 32,500 teenage drivers (14-19) in ND.
- In 2024, ND teenage drivers accounted for almost 6 percent of all licensed drivers but are involved in nearly 21% of all crashes.
- Over the past 5 years in ND, 48 teens have died in vehicle crashes.
Driving Skills for Success
- People are taking photos and videos during this event, if you didn’t sign the talent release forms it is up to you to turn around or step outside of the frame.
- Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day.
- Teens with a permit or license between the ages of 14-18 may participate in the Vision Zero Driving Skills for Success which is a free event.
- Teens may sign up for either the morning session or afternoon session.
- Parents are also encouraged to attend the event with their teen.
- Teens without a permit or license may still attend the event but cannot participate in any of the driving stations.
- The unpermitted driver can sit in back seat and watch while another student participates.
- Students will receive a certificate of completion after the event. They can ask their insurance provider if discounts are available.
- Parents cannot attend this portion.
- The ND Safety Council also provides the Alive at 25 defensive driving course.
